Offers and purchases on eBay: Bonus Or Bogus?
You no doubt heard of people getting great deals on items purchased through eBay. If you are a bit 'jealous and ready to try your hand, here is your chance to learn more.
Exactly what is eBay?
This is an online auction site, in fact the largest in the world. Do you know how an auction works - something that makes someone want to sell and then come and buyers place bids on it. The highest bid wins the item.
EBay being an online auction makes a little 'different, though. eBay accept almost any object, no matter how small, and then advertise on their sites all over the world.
How does the job offer on eBay?
Bidding on eBay is a bit 'more complex than a normal auction. On eBay, you put the maximum amount you are willing to pay for an object, and then eBay places the bids on your behalf. You may enter a maximum bid of $ 100 for something and end up paying only $ 25, if this was enough to win.
The best introduction to eBay is to dive in and give it a try. First, you must access the eBay Web site for your country. If you do not know the address, just go to http://www.ebay.com and you will find. Once you have the front page of your country, you should see a large box marked "esearch". Just type in the box all you want to buy.
When you insert an element, such as an opal ring, the site provides a list of opal rings for sale, along with how many people are currently offered to them, and you have ended your bid for that item. Click on each item listed, and you can read the description. If you find an item you want, and are willing to pay more than the current highest bidder, then it is time to enter the fray.
How can I buy what I want?
On the item description page, scroll down and type the maximum you're willing to pay in the box. Then click the "Replace bid" button. At this point you will need to sign, or go through a quick registration process if you are new.
eBay will let you know if anyone else on such maximum bid is higher than yours, and you have the opportunity to change the offer. Otherwise, it is now the new highest bidder! You can sit back and wait until the end of the auction. In the meantime, if someone else outbids you, eBay will notify you by e-mail, and you can change the offer.
Sounds like a fun shopping experience, does not? Well, if you're ready, it's time to jump on eBay .......
