You can not hide from public records search engines

As a specialist search engine optimization, often across
search engines of various kinds that the majority of people are familiar with.
This week I came across a free site that is used by journalists to do background
checks and verify the facts of news sources
histories. I am also an advocate for personal privacy and financial
and find privacy invasion particularly offensive, so this research
Motor offends me.

The http://www.pretrieve.com/ Free Public Record Search Engine -
Research person is an example of databasification of all public
records. It 's instructive to look at the results of a
searches over this people search engine that is
apparently often used by journalists. The page linked above
takes you to the home page of the site, which is a form that allows
search for a number person, company, address, or phone and
results pages can be scary.

The results are listed as questions about the site in Pretrieve.com
a row of tabs labeled "Property Info, Criminal Court,
Professional, Local Info, Miscellaneous "and" tab "Criminal
(Criminal) inserts your name or that of someone who has
looking for every possible source of criminal information
under a link "Register Sex Offender Search", then a
question as the state sought and added: "Is anyone
named (your name here) a registered sex offender in "your state
here? "If you tried your name, it seems that in
position frightening and frightened very easily.

The arrangement of the cards with information on first criminal must be done to
the dramatic effect it has on the otherwise rather
information search worldly bland. But when I went back and
pressure point that scary, I got a gratifying "no information
could be found "results page. Wow! Then again on the link that leads
the "Federal Inmate Search" I received a gratifying "Sorry. No
Inmate Named (Your name here) Race: Sex specified: not specified
found it. "In the new window launched on the Federal" Bureau of
Prisons "search.

Since I often write online, there are hundreds of sources
information available about me on the ballot results labeled
"Professional", I was happy to see that my occupation was
properly referred to as "Search Engine Optimization Specialist" with
sources coming mainly from resource boxes of my articles
appearing all over the web.

The interface of the results page also links to Pretrieve.com
organizations that have published information about you and fills
name information, going directly to a search on the name
into the new site. The interface links you Pretrieve.com
to their sources with the launch of new windows in different websites
precompilation and the research done with the name and status information.

The "professional" character are monitored by a site called
"Eliyon.com Business People Search" where links to web mentions
are related to the signature of my articles. It seems their strength is
finding business mentions to connect with the names. OK. But I was
surprised to see that a society in which work was
mistakenly referred to as Northern California, when they are
Indeed, in Southern California. Oh, and the name incorrectly,
but properly connected to the company's website.

This type of error is probably common in databases and on-line
one of the biggest problems with this type of data aggregation.
It is not always valid or accurate from all sources and there are
others with the same name, etc. There is a prominent link on the
Eliyon.com site labeled "Access the Update your profile" or
Do not you think? Add your profile "link! Is ridiculous.
Why not give them information so they give it to all
other?

The Property Info tab is truly offensive because it gives you a link
the records of the county tax assessors office of any property owned
from someone you've tried. Moreover, their home address, square
footage of their home, what is worth and the amount of taxes
due on it. Oh, and phone number, address, zip code.

The other multiple options to take the financial documents such as
bankruptcy filings, political contributions, and loans not repaid
dozens of other possible financial documents that you do not want the
world to see. Because this is acceptable - and the biggest question -
because this is legal?

A very interesting note is the privacy page Pretrieve.com
where they make this curious statement: "It may seem contrary to
a company dedicated to making public information more easily
accessible to be an ardent supporter of privacy information, but
The fact is that we take the right to privacy of information very
seriously. We believe public information should be made open and
available to everyone as adamantly as we believe private
information should remain private. "

But do not all sources of public information easily
available, making possible private information easily available
with it? In reality, this only applies to informaiton
pretrieve directly available on the site, which is nothing
than your computer and connection information such as not requiring
registration to use their service. They place cookies on your
disk drive so that the site will not work if you disable this option
in your browser. The information activities seems to be full of
contradictions.
