The best tips for making successful and enjoyable Team Building
Monday morning. The office is quiet, all sitting at their desks looking half asleep. A phone rings and rings and rings. Finally, someone answers. A few minutes later the prospect on the other side decides to deal with one of your competitors ...
Monday morning. Staff arrive early and the place is buzzing, most people are standing, waiting to get to the record, discussing last week's sales figures. A phone rings. In seconds you respond with enthusiasm and a desire to close a sale. 15 minutes after the prospect has placed an order ...
OK, two contrasting offices. Which would you rather be? If you said the first, then stop reading NOW! No self-respecting manager should also consider having an office like that. Not just to be contrary in response to my question. You see, both with the attitude, you are a de-motivation. Office motivation must come from management. Whatever the level. From senior management down. Some people are responsible for natural, but for the most part, it will take a certain effort.
First, you must have a positive approach to work. If your team see that can not be bothered with either your work or with their efforts, then for sure you will have the first type of office.
Secondly, you need to work hard at team building. Indicate the second and you'll find that most of your staff will groan. Why? Since the building only team that knows or has a cold and wet weekend in the country, performing tests of initiative and problem solving. What affects the despair in the hearts of all but the most masochistic. Or, alternatively, to associate the phrase with the team building touchy-feely kind of internal activity has been planned in the 80s. This makes it quite different from that office and the bicycle grouper office feel uncomfortable! These are both exclusive - in other words, whatever you choose, much of your team will be excluded from achieving anything positive.
So how do you get out of these stereotypes. There are still many companies that offer back in search of cold, wet and team building touchy-feely.
Avoid these, look for a new approach. Use entertainment company, which will introduce the fun element, staff will not even notice that the team building is happening. Treasure hunt or a day of themed activities are events that can really work.
The treasure hunt is a great idea because it can be done by car or on foot. A treasure hunt will be good inclusive, ie engage and motivate even the most reluctant member of the team. The benefits of team building are:
The development of >> communication, planning and lateral thinking.
Employees >> to know others in your organization better.
Employees >> break down barriers between departments.
Management >> interact with staff in a relaxed situation.
A popular theme event company is based on the old BBC 'It's a Knockout' show. It would be ideal for use where the staff is young, dynamic and competitive as it can be very physical and, inevitably, will end with participants always very wet! An alternative to this is the medieval themed event company. This requires staff through various medieval activities like archery, pulling the boar reluctant to kitchen, building a trebuchet, storming the castle, the battle of Agincourt and ends with the jousting competition as the grand finale. As for the treasure hunt is great fun, inclusive and develops all the skills that are essential for a functional and successful team.
If you have a company conference or event you prefer a hotel, so something like a theme day light works well. The teams must complete a series of activities throughout the day, working to a tight schedule. The tasks require lateral thinking, ingenuity, problem solving and good communication as delegates will crack safes, improvise costumes, lights seen in video footage to identify, disarm bombs, minefields set, move containers of radioactive waste. ... Again, highly motivating and focusing on the essential skills of the team.
So, team building should not be uncomfortable, but it can be memorable for all the right reasons - if you choose carefully. And one last tip, do not worry about team building do it yourself, remember, the experts do it every day and so your event will run much more smoothly .......
