LUIS Güereña JACINTO (1915-2007) "Man I am, call me a poet. Name I have with my landscapes speak. Name with Basque surnames. Intimate world of the desert.? Guereña Luis Jacinto. THE VOICE OF NOSTALGIA HEAPED Poems of pain and the smile of Spain (1945), the first book of Guereña in Spanish, is a cry and a song in Spain. In these poems there is already something of what will be the dominant note in all the poet's work: a sense of nostalgia for the lost land of salvation and hope of this land, steeped in longing for freedom. His poetry has the best features of the generation of 27, with a stamp of classic Spanish concept. Guereña's work is not limited to poetry, since, from the forties, he founded and directed magazines, anthologies produces, writes articles, essays, literary research, etc.. Fan of Miguel Hernandez was a student of his work. In the poem "In my memory miguelhernandiano?, Published in the magazine Litoral, are these verses:" No rest. Much less time. / It is not trade exile, living alone, / not even accepted, always goes the cry, / tenderness in the faces that look a lot, / flows of sorrowful eyes, yours / are the rivers of memory, no rest?.

As a poet, is a peculiar case of bilingual author, as many of his books were created and published in French: many see the light in the fifties and even earlier. Poetry collections Guereña French are great Ode à la naissance du jour, (1948), de l'espoir Fertilité, Memory du coeur, (1954), Loin des solitudes (1957) and pour Guitare la nuit (1960 ). In his work written in French, there are many issues that relate in some way, with Spain's civil war, with the men of Spain: one of his poems is entitled Complainte first pour Jose Vitini and is dedicated to the hero who fought in and Spanish guerrillas launched a clandestine press: it was caught, along with others. Imprisoned, sentenced to death and executed, was, for many, a symbol of sacrifice and hope. Also noteworthy is the bilingual anthology of Güereña published in Paris in 1977 with the title La poesie anglaise contemporaine. Guereña was selected to be part of the history of poetry of Robert Sabatier française (1982). His first book published in Spanish is a poem of pain and the smile of Spain (1945). Although later releases published poetry in magazines, collections of poetry in Castilian are somewhat later and are published in Spain.

These include: Winter of the word (1956), Speaking of poems (1968), News (1971), for a manifesto (1976), The Office of the eye (1990) and a memory Forgotten (1995). At the express wish of Guereña Luis Jacinto, at his death his ashes were scattered in the field of battle of the Ebro, And, as our poet said: "Companion of all / and all, man / land / body and word?.
